La cantante Effie Burt visitará Cuba

En una información que le suministraron al fotógrafo y difusor musical Robeto Bello se señala que la cantante norteamericana Effie Burt llegará  el 20 de abril a Cuba y estará en La Habana del 22 al 25 con su hija y nieta.

Según la fuente de bello, la cantante de jazz, blues, gosspels y espirituales. le gustaría poder cantar en La Habana. Ella ha sido una cantante de temas religiosos en iglesias desde muy joven.

y cito:  "Mañana va a grabar  una canción contra Trump, titulada : " ,,,,dumb ass trump....." la traducción : (dumb : es un término ofensivo en inglés con varias acepciones como bruto, y otras) + (ass : también ofensivo, culo, y otros) + Trump ), pero unido pudiera leerse, ofensivamente como : Bruto como (Culo) Trump.

 Ella le comenta a la fuente de bello que la gente con quienes viene a Cuba, son grandes amigos del ex presidente Obama, y mucho quisieran que esa canción ella la cante en La Habana.

Also known as The Jazzy Diva, lifelong vocalist, Effie Burt was born and raised in Oxford, Mississippi.  One of twelve musically giftedsiblings Effie has performed since the age of 13 with her family at churches throughout Mississippi and Tennessee. An international artist, Ms. Burt has graced stages from Beale Street to Montego Bay. Although jazz is her first love, Effie is just as engaging whether belting out R & B, gospel or bringing it home with the Blues.
She has been a featured vocalist with the Cedar Falls/Waterloo Symphony Orchestra’s “Annual Christmas Pop’s Concerts”. Effie also performed at the Jefferson Jackson Democratic Dinner, which was aired on  CSPAN and has graced the stage at a number of high profile political events for dignitaries such as Senator Tom Harkin, Governor Tom Vilsack and President Bill Clinton. Ms. Burt was featured at the Tom Harkin Annual Steak Fry performing before Democratic Presidential Candidates including Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

A composer as well, Ms. Burt penned “Let the Blues Walk on By” and “Tell Me” performed with the Louis Mctizic Band.  Both songs appeared on Bob Dorr’s Blues Compilation Album. In 1999, Effie released her first original gospel song “Written Amongst the Tears” to accompany the novel of the same name by author, Beverly Johnson.

In 2000 Ms. Burt composed the theme song for Iowa’s All–State African-American festival, “I’ll Make Me a World in Iowa”. In a historic unanimous bi-partisan vote on February 27, 2006, this song also entitled “I’ll Make Me a World in Iowa” was adopted by the Iowa Legislature as an official song for the state of Iowa. For her prestigious efforts, Ms. Burt was personally honored for “her ongoing dedication to Iowa and for using her musical talent in such a beneficial manner.” in two resolutions issued by the General Assembly.

Ms. Burt has performed to rave reviews as headliner at the Jamaican International Jazz Festival in Ocho Rios, Jamaica for several years as well as Martinique France.

Effie continues to record with music powerhouses like Lightning Red and travels the country as a featured performer at jazz and blues festivals, national conferences and university events. Known to move the crowd, Ms. Burt is a mainstay at community wide events such as the Annual Oxford Blues Festival; Thacker Mountain Radio, the Oxford Film Festival and the Big Truck Theater with accompanying band Sweet Effie and jazz ensemble Effie and Friends

Ms. Burt is presently performing with the ``Soultones``, and a jazz band in Oxford MS.
